Controversy involving Fields

I had assumed they gave him an injection, but they did it in the sideline tent without taking him to locker room for an X-ray. He says they didn’t give him any information about what they were doing. It raises questions about their medical staff, but whatever.

Why would Ohio suddenly start caring about their players’ health?

They’ve got a million alumni that only care about a win to distract them from their dismal existence.

The Big Ten changed the rules and regulations concerning a student athlete who may or my not n medical attention. The student athlete no longer has to be informed of his current health status not does the medical staff need to acquire a signature of authorization from the student athlete. The only question the medical staff will be required to ask any Big Ten student athlete is the following, "did you feel a pinch?"

I thought this when they said they didn’t do X-RAYS at halftime and Day saying Field’s had to play 30 more minutes after already up 3 TD’s.
I hope he’s fine and gets well quickly. Hope Day does not risk Fields’ overall health by keeping him in the game or by playing him against Bama if he is hurt.

When I heard that he had not been x-rayed, I thought that their medical staff could be liable for gross incompetence by letting him back in the game. I broke a rib racing go carts and it felt like I had been kicked by a mule. I found out later that a broken rib could result in a punctured lung. I guess it could also puncture your heart. If his ribs turn out to be broken, someone should be held accountable. Regardless, he still should have not been playing toward the end of the game.

Day was leaving the field, he was asked about Fields' injury, he said something like "Well, he has to play". I couldn't believe he said that.

Yes I read that, they were pumping him with numbing agents so that he could throw the ball without pain. That is what you call win at any cost!!! And I'm thinking that it is possible that he could have cracked or fractured Ribs, and if he has, it was a pretty dangerous situation they put him by pumping him up to kill the pain and sending him right back out!!!

I often suspect these players are getting steroid injections in those tents. That isn’t necessarily bad, but Unless they have an X-ray machine in there, how do they know what is actually wrong? Questionable for sure.

Agreed. Pretty sure Fields was shot up with a hot dose of roids, pain killers and some kick butt numbing agent. They’ve probably got every PED possible in that tent.

There is no controversy and Fields isn’t a victim. He transferred there by choice. He either didn’t do his research on programs or he didn’t care. Either way, he ain’t a victim. He just doesn’t have smart people around him with his best interests in mind.

The biggest question still remains, what will be the long term effects of taking pain killing shots for broken/and or fractured ribs in order to continue to perform? If it does come out that Feilds had fractured or broken his ribs and still played, it will not be a positive for the school, but Feilds would likely benefit from it. If it comes out that Feilds played with broken or fractured ribs without knowledge, then the whole situation takes a dark turn.
