No, ESPN will never change from carrying the SEC's water, but I think in this case the question is valid. GA has little to be gained from beating Cincy, much to lose. Auburn is a rapidly on its way to becoming a dumpster fire. Morale has to be down on the Plains.

Win the opener, win your rivalry, win your bowl game.

We were in a lot of bowls that didn’t mean much to everyone else. They meant something to our program though.

What if the ESPN talking heads are correct?

Why doesn't this seem to translate to other sports, like ACC basketball? Why don't UNC, or Duke ever mail in games against lesser-named OOC opponents and let them win?

Does this phenomena ONLY apply to SEC football teams?

in the heart and between your ears should be humiliating to an athlete. “Hey, I’m more talented than you, but I just didn’t work hard, focus or try.” THAT’S your excuse!?! That’s awful.

When your team loses, they lose. If you lack the character as a program to prepare and execute for a NYD bowl game, that is who you are.
