There is not any football talk going on. Just talk about last year, media disrespect, and catchy misspelled words.

That we make Mayfield look very average nye. Your two best skill players are still the same two from last year. Perine and Shepard. M Alexander will shut down Shepard once again, and what from I keep hearing, he's the only WR worth talking about.

Tell us how you make BM average? What kind of schemes do you see BV running? Do you think we'll see anything new from your offense or just stick with what's been working?

Every question you are asking has been discussed at length in the above three threads. If you don't have anything new to ask, just read.

Further, I don't at all remember the consensus here being that he is average. We give credit where it is due. But we, unlike you Sooner fans, back up most if not all arguments beyond opinion. There have been 5-6 of you here all week long, some providing sound arguments, some having opinions as unpredictable as south florida weather.
In summary:
You guys think our defenses in the ACC are untested because we don't play "good offenses". We tend to think your offenses look rather inflated considering the defenses you've faced.
You guys think Shepard is unstoppable yet we stopped him last year. Same with Perine.
Some of you say Mayfield has gotten sacked 36 times because he holds the ball too long (it's his fault, not the line), others say he reads defenses like no other and can't be stopped (aka he is immune to the blitz packages of Venebles and they refuse to account for his 36 sacks).
You guys call the Texas game a fluke and refuse to concede that you played the backup quarterbacks against your toughest opponents. You guys think Jimbo Fisher starting Sean Maguire over Everett Golson (who was cleared to play) is the same thing, but it isn't. He was chosen to start the game, not put in because of circumstance outside of coach's choice.
You guys don't like contrarian views or statistics.
If anything, you guys are the ones in masses calling Deshaun Watson "average" on here.
Hmm... what else?

http://youtu.be/_6NADb2GH48 Average. The Tigers won't stop in the 20s (or 30s for that matter). But the Sooner D already knows what 40-6 looks like...so I think you know.

Sorry, I know you had your Air Raid cue cards ready and a printout explaining plays-per-game. We've heard it all before and it's all been refuted time & time again. You're stuck with reading tonight.

There's no need to talk about last year. We have plenty to talk about this year. We have the nations best QB. You'll get to see him this year, he was watching last year just like me and you. He'll probably make a difference.
We have some guys in our secondary that have played OU before. They enjoyed that game. We have some guys who had coming out parties on defense last year against OU that have played and started this entire year. They've gotten better.
I believe your whole offense goes off of being able to run. You have to be able to run the ball so that Mayfield can carry out his fakes and get outside of the pocket and do what he does. But I believe we shut down your run game based on our ability to dominate O-lines that are better than yours. And because of that, I think Mayfield will have to win a lot of one on one matchups in the open field with guys that are more athletic, bigger, faster and stronger than he is. Don't see your offense hitting on much.
But, our defense has been subject to busts over the last few games that results in big plays. Those kind of plays fuel Mayfield because of the kind of player he is. I think he makes a few plays, but none that change the game.

I've read the threads and all I see is they suck and we will beat them bad. It's like you guys think your team just shows up and wins. I know your coaches are spending long hours planning for this game and I was just looking for some insight from their fans.

You can't read a handful of posts and say that's what we all think. There have been plenty, and I mean plenty of complimentary posts in all of these threads.
I know I, myself, as well as many others though, have included statistic after statistic to back up nearly every refutation to your bragging points. You guys talk about the Air Raid offense like it comes from outer space instead of 1990 west coast schemes and there's no tape on it. You talk about Mayfield's touchdowns and passing efficiency but refuse to look at the fact that you're playing the #5 defense in passing yards allowed and the #7 overall defense in the FBS. When you're presented with the fact that the hardest defense you've faced all year is Akron, you dot really say much. You just keep regurgitating the same rhetoric.

Maybe an average ranking of defensive categories will help..
Dec 18, 2015, 2:57 AM
|
|
SCORING DEFENSE: OU-79.5 CLEMSON-44.3
RUSHING DEFENSE: OU-79.25 CLEMSON-59.16
PASSING DEFENSE: OU-91.83 CLEMSON-34.42
TOTAL DEFENSE: OU-86.5 CLEMSON-44.42
Clemson still managed to put up the similar numbers.
