He was addressing people who were crying about rankings and teams that lost not dropping. He referenced SOS comparison of Clemson and Lville, and then said (paraphrasing):

Its like golf. One guy might be up 4 strokes on the next guy, but then has a terrible hole, double bogey. At the end of that hole, despite a bad performance, the guy is still winning because of how he performed to that point. So yeah, these teams that have high SOS maybe had a bad week but they're still ahead on the leaderboard.

Makes sense to me.

That was one of the best comparisons I have heard. One thing about the 4 team playoff, it has created a lot of interest.
