Looking back at the play where Mullens sacked Tua, it was

really poorly played on the backend, as Bama had two open receivers.

Muse was supposed to pick up the back coming out of the backfield but ran into the linebacker who was switching onto the reciever that Mullen dropped. The back was wide open as a result and the reciever ran a drag route that went uncovered.

Luckily the reciver had motioned inside, taking Mullen into perfect blitz position on the stunt.
Glad the blitz got there because it could have been a TD otherwise.

I think you missed it...

That was an "unsound trigger blitz". Meaning that there was a trigger for Mullen to go for the blitz instead of covering his guy. That trigger was the WR motioning inside. It was unsound because we left guys open. It was exactly plays like this that Tua was not able to prepare for. I only saw the one uncovered guy (Mullen's guy). Muse was indeed late getting to his guy, but I think that was part of the disguise. Also, how did he just pass through the two guys without knocking one of them over!?

and it doesn't look nearly as bad. Ball is snapped with 2:23 on the clock in the 2Q, which should be around 1:58:00 on the video.

The back may have been open but clearly wasn't Tua's first read and the blitz gave him no time to get there. Saying it could have been a TD maybe an exaggeration. Also Muse didn't actually run into the LB.

You can watch all the different broadcasts by following the links in this thread:

ESPN generally keeps replays available online for a while, including all the various viewing options they offer. I gathered the links by searching for "clemson alabama" on the WatchESPN site.
