As I type, there's a guy in a live oak tree on Clements Ferry Road off I-526. They're widening the road and he's trying to keep them from cutting the tree down. Word is he's in a hammock and the cops have shut down the road. And by the by, the tree isn't even on his property. It's in existing highway right of way.

Wonder how this plays out?

Ha! According to one of his FB posts it's now "A Historic African American Tree".

Never heard that one before. Perhaps on a windy day you can hear it humming "We shall overcome".
