We're friends. You laugh, I laugh. You cry, I cry. You jump off a bridge, I get in my boat and save your retarded a$$.

Downtown flooding.

Mar 12, 2014, 7:03 PM

10 minutes o' heavy rain & Market St.'s knee-deep & most streets become non-traversable unless big truck or hovercraft. This is sometimes a plus, of course, during off work hrs & one may have blow-up devices such as kayaks or small paddle boats. At least a handful of times per year campus area becomes rowing club.

Then the extreme heat really brings out the smell uv horse carriage trailings during scorching summer days.

do you hate people from Ohio?

#1 reason: tourists...

Mar 12, 2014, 8:18 PM

2. Traffic
3. 135% humidity

Sure.

Mar 12, 2014, 9:41 PM

If you absolutely, 100% despise Bill Murray, well, you stand a better chance of seeing his stupid face in Charleston than most other places.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgbadge-ringofhonor-19b.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

One of the few reasons I like Charleston, is you see a lot

Mar 12, 2014, 10:09 PM

of these...but maybe that's everywhere and I'm just out of the loop...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not as good as Pat Conroy says it is, and it effed him up

Mar 12, 2014, 10:53 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

In that case. DO NOT COME DOWN HERE WITHOUT

Mar 13, 2014, 8:37 AM

A REAL JOB. There aren't a ton of them, unless you have value to a defense contractor. A high number of the other ones automatically go to Citadel grads.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Maybe I should move down there then.

Mar 13, 2014, 8:43 AM

Who better to make mega-bucks working for a defense contractor than a murderous warlord who actually enjoys some good old fashioned killing?

ringofhonor-rhtig.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You probably should start your own band of mercenaries.

Mar 13, 2014, 8:47 AM

You could then use them to distract the world from the mutant army.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Just the opposite.

Mar 13, 2014, 8:49 AM

The mutant army needs to be paraded in full view of the public eye to inspire the proper level of terror amongst humankind.

ringofhonor-rhtig.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Cost of living, traffic, schools, and most of all....

Mar 12, 2014, 10:53 PM

the locals.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You cannot fully appreciate the opportunity to fish for spot

Mar 13, 2014, 7:26 AM

tails and trout within five minutes of your house, if you live in Charleston year round.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO PHILADELPHIA?

Mar 13, 2014, 8:19 AM

Just like that, only warmer weather and different accents. This is in the city.

If you like beaches with murky water and brownish sand, there's that also.

Cost of living is high, lots of transplants, not close to anything.

So no, no great reason to live there IMO. Not even a great place to visit outside of the token 1 trip per year to eat and look at historic stuff.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Traffic, taxes, crappy schools, high real estate prices.

Mar 13, 2014, 8:21 AM

I moved willingly away from Charleston.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I sure wish that high real estate price were true right now.***
