Lattimore article on ESPN worth reading

May 16, 2016, 12:47 PM

I cringe every time I even think about his injury. I wouldn't wish that upon anyone. I'm really happy to see things worked out for him.

Yeah...but he certainly looked like it.

He had the kind of style that translates well to the NFL.

Problem was, Spurrier rode him like a rented mule, and when a guy rushes 40+ times a game, he's going to break down. Spurrier did the same thing to Fred Jackson...by the time he got to the NFL, Jackson was already high-mileage and starting to break down.

Spurrier certainly did not concern himself about keeping the wear and tear on his guys down.

I went to 14 of the Horse's high school football games because I wanted to watch the best. He was truly a warrior on the football field. I did not pull for him to have football success in college but I certainly hope that he continues to be successful in life.

If there were ever two Gamecocks I wished

were Tigers it was Lattimore and Shaw. Those two played their butts off and earned your respect on the field. They made Spurrier look a lot better than he was.

If he had come to Clemson, would there ever had been a Lattimore Day declared by Haley? Not likely. Sorry for his knees. Mine are bad too. Maybe I should have tried public speaking for a living. A gamecock is just a gamecock to me.
