Their fans are pissed they are not number one solely because they want no part of Clemson. They know our pedigree and know the SEC patch on their uniforms will not save them. Sure you throttled the sec but we will end your season in embarrassing fashion. Ask Bama

Uh - no - the 2/3 teams will almost never play #4. #1 gets to play the #4 team which is usually considered to be the weakest path to the championship game. The 2/3 teams have to play the best teams to win it all. Do you football?

Two years ago, Alabama won it all as a #4 seed. But you're right LSU does not want to face Clemson.

I don't know why any team wants to be #1 going into the playoffs, history proves that doesn't work out to well. I love being right where we are. That's what allows Dabo to keep playing the underdog, Us vs the World mentality. We are at our best when doubters continue to hate. If LSU and OSU were smart, they would be begging for the committee to put Clemson at #1 just so Dabo couldn't use that motivational factor.

LSU will jump to the #1 seed after they beat UGA

If the SEC winner is undefeated, they will always be put at #1 seed for the final playoff rankings.
That is what the committee is setting up right now.
If LSU wins SEC:
1. LSU
2. OSU
3. Clemson
4. Utah
If UGA wins SEC (LOL!)
1. OSU
2. Clemson
3. UGA
4. LSU or Utah
This gives us the 2 vs 3 matchup everyone wants in either scenario. It also sets up Clemson vs LSU, Clemson vs OSU or LSU vs OSU that everyone wants for the final. A television ratings win either way.
