Kirk Herbstreit

Herbstreit is as good as it gets IMO. Always honest and inciteful, and I know it pained him to see his Buckeyes get dominated in a beat down, but it never showed. I wish ther were more like him in the industry. I get so sick of the hometown from ESPN. He is a pleasure.

He may have suspected we'd win, but I bet the beat down was a surprise.

Agreed, you would never know he played QB there by the way he called the game - true professional.

My take, exactly. It seems very unusual in the world of college F/B broadcasting today.

And I'm not 100% sure on Pollack, but he does a great job, usually, as well.

Yeah he admitted he was surprised about the complete beatdown. Loved the way both of them pointed out how young we were on defense.
Will have to go back and count how many times he said DW4 was the best player in fb. And how shocked an NFL team was going to be when they start working with him

My observation has been that he loves

the Clemson hometown atmosphere, Coach Swinney and the legacy that's being built. One of the announcers, not sure if it was Kirk or Reese, was talking about how rigid Ohio St was with their young men and how their staff pushes their players to want to quit. On the other hand, the Clemson coaches genuinely care about their players as people. Go Tigers

all Herbie could say was I guess you could make a case he was interfered with...on the SECOND replay of it...also openly calling for a pick-6 when we were backed up and failed to point out several BLATANT holding no-calls...He did a good job of transitioning in the second half once the rout was on but it was pretty obvious who he was pulling for in the 1st half

I like KH a lot. He is one of the best announcers, but I agree with others. Obvious missed and bad calls against Clemson were not mentioned by the announcers. The announcers changed the subject or talked all around the bad calls. When the rout was on there nothing to be said because the missed calls didn't matter and the superlatives were flying...
Get over the man crush for KH.

We hung Kirk out to dry in '07 when he jumped on board

with us as the best 1-loss team in the country after our impressive Thunder & Lightning domination of Ga. Tech the Saturday prior. We thusly went on to get ###-trounced by the Hokies on that Thursday night in spectacular Bowdenesque fashion, leaving Kirk holding the bag. It's been a slow and steady process regaining his trust since.
