Jan 17th deadline to declare for the NFL Draft

I wonder if any of the underclassmen are leaning towards returning for unfinished business much like the D-line did the year before. I'd say after last night A.J. Terrell may want another year, other than...its just hard to see Higgins or Ettiene coming back when 1st-2nd rd is a sure lock, but wouldn't be surprised at the same time. We've been pretty good at getting a big name or two back for their Sr year. Pinckney and Skalski would be a nice addition back as well.
If I had to put a percentage on who returns:
Amari Rodgers: 100%-decision made Pinkney and Skalski: 90% AJ Terrell: 65% Etienne: 50% Higgins: 25% Simmons:.01%

No way Skalski goes out like that.
Do you think Chubba Hubbard staying has any effect on Etienne positive or negative?

I don't think it has an effect one way or the other, I think Etienne makes the decision for himself and not based on other guys. I'm sure that left a sour taste in his mouth too and was already contemplating to come back before hand. I think Swift, Taylor and Dobbins are listed as the top RBs in this draft so far.

I hope Etienne returns for his senior season.
Having Travis around can help Trevor finalize his decision to play at Clemson.

A lot of folks think Etienne should leave early for the NFL and get paid - as if he is guaranteed to be a top draft pick in this years draft. All those saying that are ignoring the depth/talent of this years running back NFL draft class and the history of NFL running back draft averages. Taylor, Dobbins, Swift, Akers, and AJ Dillon have all already declared for this years draft. We will see what Chuba Hubbard decides in the near future - but this years draft class from the known backs is a very good class. And what we have not taken into consideration is the relatively unknown running backs (less publicized running backs from middle of the pack schools) that always seem to find their way into the draft competition picture as well.
Etienne is a very good running back and I would not trade him for any other running back in the country, but this thought that the NFL values Etienne over all these other backs that have already declared (particularly Dobbins, Taylor and Dillon) is our orange blooded blinders talking. This is not a good running back year to declare EARLY for the NFL draft if you are aiming to be a 1st or 2nd round pick. Here are some numbers over the last 10 years that the Etienne family should be thinking about:
Number of 1st Round RB NFL draft picks since 2010: 16 Number of 2nd Round RB NFL draft picks since 2010: 27
That averages to just 1.6 running backs being selected each year in the first round and a total of 4.3 running backs being selected each year in the first two rounds of the NFL draft. These are not great individual odds if you are in a heavy competition draft class of which this years running back class is shaping up to be.
I really think there is a greater chance Etienne comes back for another year of college football to compete in the 2021 draft where he will be the premiere running back with lesser competition for an early round draft pick.
Unless his family is wondering where their next meal is coming from (all indications are that they are doing OK), Etienne should not feel the pressure to declare early for the NFL draft as there is more money to be made in the 2021 draft by showing some strategic patience.
And to those who worry about injury - I'm quite sure Clemson already has insurance on Etienne to provide him a comfortable lifestyle if something bad were to happen...

^^^ THIS. Travis is no doubt a 1st round caliber player however no way do I see him going on the 1st round this year. Terrell should come back too, great player just had a poor night but that sticks in people’s minds for sure and I really think he’d benefit from another year. Same with Tee, again another 1st round caliber player but I think he’ll fall to the 2nd round with this historically deep WR class and his poor showings against the best competition. Between Trevor on his 3rd year, motivation from losing the natty and the chance to really go out the right way I’d come back.
Simmons is the only one I’d say go but man would that be something if he came back....
