Why point out winston? The UF 1B was the punk b!tch that started it. Field the ball and make the tag.

The batter was the one in the wrong.***

How you figure?

The defense had an opportunity to make a play. The pitcher missed the ball. You are allowed to run straight to the base. In college the runner isn't supposed to make contact but the defense also has to give a line to the bag. The 1b overreacted.

Guess I don't know the intricate rules of baseball,

Mar 25, 2014, 11:11 PM

but as a person who doesn't care much about the sport, it looks like the runner could've easily went around without leaving the path of the base.

I also remember reading about baseball trying to get rid of collisions, I know that was specified at the homeplate, but I would think this would almost apply.

I agree the first baseman overreacted and was probably frustrated his pitcher didn't make the tag, but the runner was still the one who pushed instead of turning away.

The pitcher was obviously inside the baseline and the batter veered into him. Batter should be out.

In Baseball the runner is not allowed to run to the infield side of the chalk line.
The runner is given the foul side of the line to run to 1st base, that is why there is a long rectangular box leading to the bag at 1st.
The runner is supposed to run in that box.
The runner ran into the defensive player and should have been called out for interference.
Poor Umpiring job again in College Baseball.

Agree. Veered into the fielder.***

fsu runner ran inside the baseline blocking a throw from our catcher and was called out. If you were there, you would know

You don't know the rules of baseball, do you?

The runner should have been called out for interference, for running inside the base path.

He created the contact by running on the wrong side of the line.

BAD Umpiring!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Me too. Unfortunately baseball "brawls" are always weak

and just end up with guys yelling at each other, MAYBE shoving one another. Nothing actually happens.
