I thought all turnovers were reviewable. Evidently only the ones ruled to be turnovers are reviewable; the refs are free to blow all calls that contain a potential turnover.

So Baylor should have been tagged with the loss.

Although the ruling was incorrect, it wasn’t a turnover. The rule applied was similar to a false start which stops the play.

My understanding is that the reason it was not a turnover is because the ref blew the call.

He didn't blow the whistle before the fumble; he incorrectly asserted that Fruh had committed a snap infraction before the fumble. My understanding is that video evidence, were it allowable, would have allowed the turnover to stand.

Baylor loses.

All of that is true.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It seems to be like when a ref calls

Oct 17, 2019, 6:19 AM

forward progress had stopped before a fumble. The ball is dead then...and that is not reviewable.
In some ways I miss the old days of not stopping a teams momentum to review a play. Just play well and take the officials input out of the game...

The AD didn't violate any rule, imo. He didn't comment on

Oct 17, 2019, 7:54 AM

officiating: he commented on the league's rulng of an officiating matter, and even then he was merely confirming what the league had actually done. I wouldn't pay it.

Exactly

Oct 17, 2019, 8:09 AM

He didn't speak poorly of the officiating he just presented facts and confirmed that the entire game would be reviewed. I don't see what the issue is here; especially not a $25,000 fine issue.

I happened to be watching when it happened. The announcers expressed doubt about the ruling. Aside from that snap, Frumorgen played really well. He didn’t miss any blocks that I could see.

Whatever, TT played Baylor tight & looked pretty good.

Oct 17, 2019, 8:37 AM

That's all.

No, if he COULD see it happening, that would be unreal!

That definitely would not be Jake. :)

Re: Jake Fruhmorgen... name sounds familiar, but not sure.

Oct 17, 2019, 8:34 AM

Maybe now I’ll know him, since he will be the guy who screwed up and snapped a ball into somebody’s backside.

Whatever choice(s) you make makes you. Choose wisely.

or you'll miss another transfer

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-74tiger.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He should appeal the fine

Oct 17, 2019, 10:02 AM

The AD didn't say anything inappropriate IMO.
