Just having someone from a program that never loses has to help with our guys. He comes from a place that expects to win. We need more of that!
Now with all that said we should’ve NEVER been , at any time, this far behind our in state rival. We are in the premier football conference in America and Clemson backups instantly become starters for us? Problem is they could send a backup at every position and our starting lineup probably changes by 90%.

Clever analogy but sad but not 100% correct since i figure it would be more like 99.99%.

Just kidding & I think Coot FB has been getting some very respectable recruits recently as well as couple from Clemson, but will that be enough to make them big winners in the SEC and against Clemson on a steady basis.

It's over for the Coots....it's a zero sum game now

Any hope they had of ascending was extinguished back in 2011 when Dabo won his 1st ACC Championship.

He's done a real hatchet-job and it'll be felt for another 50 years. The state of SC doesn't supply enough talent for One D-1 program, let alone Two.

Clemson will win 2-3 more national championships in the next several years. In fact, Dabo may get to 6 national titles before Saban does. We're heading into Blue Blood territory, and that isn't something they'll ever be able to overcome.

Clemson has relegated South Carolina to permanent Vandy/UK status. Capable of a 9 win season every 10 years or so, but not sustainable.

Their recruiting footprint is too small to compete at a national level. They're strictly a regional player (and a minor one at that). They have two permanent obstacles they're unable to overcome:

1) They can't consistently recruit the type of football players they need to sustain a Top-25 Football program. Too many other more powerful brands overlap their recruiting footprint (Clemson, UGA, UF, FSU, UT, AUB, AL, UNC, UK, etc). UNC and UK's basketball programs make their brands powerful.

2) Even if they hire a good HC they won't be able to hang on to him (other than an old re-treads like Spurrier, Holtz, etc...). A young HC capable of establishing a real culture-change and winning will never stay there no matter how much money they offer (see reason #1).

Dabo has permanently relegated them to Vanderbilt status (minus the good the education). It is indeed a dark time in their football history. 5-Bombs aside, Dabo will be remembered by them as the guy that cememnted their status as a 3rd-tier power-5 football program.

Come to SCar, we’re like Vandy

but without academic standards. Gotta admit, it just might work.
