I am thrilled that I was wrong

I thought for sure Trump packing the Supreme Court would come back to bite American Democracy in the ###.
I thought for sure he would only put people on the bench that would have undying loyalty to him like he demands of anybody else around him.
However, the Supreme Court made the right decision in not allowing the Texas case to be heard (Yes two justices said it needed to be heard, but they didn't agree the case should go past being heard) even though it did not benefit Trump.
That is not a door anybody wants open, but especially "conservatives"
If Texas can sue other states for how it applies or doesn't apply that state's laws, then what is to stop California or New York for suing republican states for minimum wage, labor, immigration laws?
Thankfully, lifetime appoints for USSC Justices keep working.

Coach,
I was encouraged by that decision.
However, there are still issues on which this court will bite American Democracy in the ###.

Everyone needs to calm down a little whenever a justice is nominated for the SCOTUS in regards to what party is nominating him or her. They've shown time and time again the willingness to put law and correct interpretation ahead of party politics. John Roberts is a great example.

Look, I got a little admitted bias against Roberts, but it feels like occasionally he bends to popular opinion over weighing decisions against the constitution.
His creativity in ascribing mandatory health insurance as part of Congress's taxing power was particularly irksome.

You don't know the law and judges then, but that's ok.

And appointed judges are a whole other breed as well. The assumption of loyalty is the biggest farce among people when it comes to appointed judges. They are judges first, lawyers second, and political insiders 10th. You really are batting 50/50/50 on appointed judges. 50% of them will stay ideologically/legally consistent. 50% of them will be inconsistent or malleable. 50% will change their stripes. 0% will bow to the will of whoever appointed them.

Based on his role on the Supreme Court, there are so many conflicts within his house. I figured they'd want to avoid any potential issues and keep her out of politics.

My prediction was a 5-4 victory for Trump and he wins reelection.
That was before it became clear that a genuine Supreme Court dispute wasn't happening, of course.

Their job is not to serve the president, the people, or overturn Roe, it is to keep the current system and power structure we have in place, little more.

When you throw total BS against the wall in a courtroom...

it doesn't matter who appointed the judge. Look, people give lawyers a load of #### all the time and there are plenty of lawyers who deserve it, but those that reach the heights of the Supreme Court are generally bigger than that stuff no matter what their personal politics.
