called a sophomore slump for a reason

I'm a fan of DW 4, kid is a stud, but maybe he read too many press clippings in the offseason and took it easy? Clowney did the same thing.
I'm sure he will snap out of it but if it weren't for the running game I don't think the Tigers win against the Louservilles.

DW4 has only thrown 3 INTs so far this year, and one of them was against App State who Mackey says is better than BC and on his 2 INTs against Louisville his receiver fell down on one of them who was in position to come close to batting down a poorly thrown ball before it was intercepted and on the other Jordan Leggett didn't even make an attempt to attack the ball so stop with this BS coot because the Clown got all of his hype from tackling a Michigan RB when he wasn't even blocked whereas the DW4 hype was legit after he went crazy against a really good UNC team who would beat the snot out of your coots if you ever played them so go back to fgf coot!

One small correction...
Sep 25, 2015, 10:45 AM
[ in reply to ARE YOU FREAKING SERIOUS? ] |
|
On the first INT against Louisville, it was actually the inside WR's fault...not Leggett's. The inside WR wasn't in the correct spot, so the Safety was able to roam over and Leggett became sandwiched with no chance to make a play on the ball. That's according to Dabo.
The other INT against Louisville was a bad throw.

For my part, I did not think Watson performed up to the abilities we had seen from him. What we saw last year was a guy who was absolutely poetic in everything he did. Whether it was a pass or a run, the guy's talent just overwhelmed anyone watching. This was not what we saw in him in the Louisville game. He seemed stymied, frustrated and not very confident. Was it his leg? Was it the line? Was it the opponent????????
Watson is a great guy to have representing Clemson; he seems clean cut, very mature, very capable in the classroom and most capable on the field. But he hasnt yet wowed anyone so far this season. Unless something got in his head and is stuck there, he will come back to wow the world again, but while we are sticking up for him and our Tigers, lets not fool ourselves - he looked merely competent the other night.

Nice run on paragraph, you ####### redneck. 2 of Watson's INTs were his fault - admit it. Especially the second one vs. Louisville. He threw it into double coverage and prayed Scott would come down with it. He's a young stud, he'll be just fine. O Line had better be ready next Sat, or Watson will be running for his life

healthy TNET banter. I wasn't overly impressed with DW4 in the Looeyville game, but its hard to say he is having a "sophomore slump" based upon two previous appearances in tune up games and his first legitimate test being a Thursday night road contest. He ended up finishing with pretty good stats and while I was not pleased with the int on that first deep ball, it may be too early to call it a sophomore slump right now.

And we did win.
Its three games into the season, we just won a tough matchup on the road which was our first real test, and Watson played pretty well except for one or two throws. What about any of that spells sophomore slump to you?

You bring up good points as to the diversity of talent on the field, but it does nothing to dispel an assertion that Watson did not perform as one might have expected against Louisville.
Perhaps the reason so many are responding in a reactive manner is because the original question came from a coot, but I'm not the only Clemson fan thinking Watson did not show himself to be the threat we know he really is.

apparently, you felt he needed to be defended so if we're going to run numbers out to do so, then "to be fair" we should run the bulk of them out, no?

Bottom line is that he is 3-0 , has a fine schedule ahead of him to try and lead Clemson into the Final Football Four and he is in the midst of a long layoff to get things worked out and to study his mistakes with the staff . Good problem to have if you're Clemson . A sophomore QB like DW4.
