Interesting Rushing Stats Against Notre Dame in 2020 So Far

See below rushing stats against ND this year. Two things stands out: a) Clemson had the lowest 935) and Syracuse the highest (229). Ignoring Cuse, the next highest RB is Jordan Travis (QB) of FSU. Something drastically went wrong that day for Tigers. Yes we have our bad days but not to the extent that we are at the bottom of the pile. Hope Eliott and Grisham are watching some tape on how to maximize the run. TL16 runs are a given but that is not the problem for us.
what do you guys think?
Date / Team /Total Rushing Yards 9/12, Duke, 79 yds 9/19, USF, 110 yds 10/10, FSU, 156 yds (Jordan Travis 96 Yds) 10/17, Louisville, 96 yds 10/24, Pittsburgh, 44 yds 10/31, Georgia Tech, 88 yds 11/7, Clemson, 35 yds (Ettienne 28 yds) 11/14, Boston Colleg, 101 yds 11/27, UNC, 87 yds 12/5, Syracuse, 229 Yds (Sean Tucker 113, Cooper Lutz 103 yds)

I think it took them two overtimes to beat a depleted Clemson team.

They will go down in the ACCCG.

DJU would have run more had he not been injured...

which would have prevented the ND defense from keying on ETN.

Agree 100% that using QB runs would have kept them more honest. I think that DJ's injured shoulder kept him from designed runs, but knowing we didn't have a 5* behind him probably was another reason they were concerned about him. It's one thing if TL gets injured; DJU is behind him. As impressed as Helms was against GTech, it's obviously not the same.

Interesting stat; As I said in an earlier comment,40-47 is the only stat that matters. Not how Notre Dame did against Syracuse, or Pittsburg ,or Boston College. Stats don't win ball games. Stats don't lose ball games. Having one more point on the scoreboard than your opponent when the clock reads 00:00 wins ball games.

Technically, we had the same number of points as ND did when the clock first read 00:00. Overtime is not timed. But you're absolutely right otherwise, you win the game by scoring more than your opponent, not by out gaining them, or having a 2:1 advantage in time-of-possession, or completing more passes. Just scoring more points (or preventing them from scoring more points).

I look at these stats and it tells me

They are tough against the run. They held a lot of teams under 100 yards.
I think we will run the ball better, we’ve improved since that game.
That said, we will have to throw the ball a good bit to beat them.

Don't think the O-line has improved much. We need to run screens to the running backs, NOT THE WR'S, draws and slants.

Than they did against ND.
Trevor will be getting us into successful plays pre snap. We should have some improvement running the ball with TL in the game.
It doesn’t get much worse than 33 yards though...

What was bad wrong was we couldn’t run the QB, no read option, nothing. We couldn’t run him because he was hurt! That’s the difference.

TL is very effective when he tucks the ball into TE's gut and pulls it out. It usually results in pretty good yardage. I suspect we'll see this against the pugnacious leprechauns.

TL will run enough to help ETN get loose. The whole team wants revenge and they will be hitting harder and running faster than ever. Going to be some game.
