Actually it was "The General"----I believe General was his legal name( I heard that somewhere)-----Both he and Terry Allen had 80 plus runs that night. My friend and I sat thru the rainy puntrooski game the year before and there was no way we were going to miss this one---One of Danny's many Fla. wins---he never lost in Fla.!

Believe it was the same game. Clemson on the goal line going in for the score. When the ball was snapped to the quarterback, every Clemson lineman pancaked their man on the defensive line. Never saw that happen again.

sent out a True Freshman to field a late Clemson punt named Charlie Ward. Ward would miss the 1990 season w/ a Medical Redshirt, but eventually assume the starting QB roll. Ward would win the 1993 Heisman Trophy and lead the Noles to a National Championship.

I was on sideline (20yd line) FSU side.; waiting to perform for halftime. Got so excited, almost gave him a high-five as he ran past. Definitely a classic game!
