Instead of expanding the CFP’s to 8 teams why not create CFP

for teams like Coastal Carolina, UCF, LT, Liberty and other teams on that level. Create a 4 team playoff for these teams rather than putting them in an 8 team playoff where teams like Coastal have very little chance of beating two Power 5 schools. By creating another level you even the playing field for Liberty vs CCU. A game I feel sure would get great ratings.

Just a thought!

I think something similar to this idea of a lower tier playoff actually exists already. It's only a 2-team bracket though and most call it the Big 10 Championship

We essentially have a 10 team playoff now

5 conference championship games - round 1
Committee picks 4 teams from 5 winners and any other team that is worthy
Semi final, then final

Because the tv networks and advertisers just aren't interested in paying the big bucks for that.

I agree, I think that teams that aren't a power 5 team, there should be a some sort of a game after they have played their conference championship games. The winners of each those conferences should have a NCG for those teams, and they to will be sanctioned by the NCAA, and it'll be like a NCG that the power 5 schools play in, and governed by the same!!! I haven't ever watched any of the games that isn't in the power 5, but I would watch a NCG with those teams that would play in a lower NCG title game....
