Respect the office, not the man...

Jan 15, 2019, 7:52 AM

No matter how shortsighted, idiotic, misguided, moronic you may feel of the majority of the electorate is, they elected a man, he’s the President. The beauty of our system is that the electorate has the capacity to vote out any politician that doesn’t appeal to our political leanings. It is an incredible honor to be recognized by the most powerful office in the world. These young men are going to have the story of a lifetime to pass on forever. Trevor, Hunter among others to be called by name by a sitting President is special, well deserved but special. For Clemson University to be at the epicenter of American power for even a brief moment in time is amazing. For anyone to interject their own politics into a non-political moment is sad. When you get right down to the crux of the matter, this office, the Presidency, is not a Kingdom or a dictatorship. It is a revolving door that those with power(the electorate) can and does usually correct its course based on the will of the majority. So, let’s just celebrate the fact we’re in a position to witness our program being recognized by the highest office in the land. Respect the office, not the man. Go Tigers and God Bless America.

Remember when Alabama visited the Obama Whitehouse and weren't fed anything? I do, it was 2010 and they bought their own ChickFilA.

But he isn’t a reflection of the electorate. 3,000,000 more electoral votes for Hillary than Trump.

He is the result of the electorate. He is not the result of the majority. What have a representative democracy in this country, not a majority rule. Don’t they teach you guys anything in cootlumbia?

Your understanding of "representative republic" is even worse than your understanding of football...

Your "electorate" = "mob". The entirety of the excess votes you refer to is made up of votes from the People's Republic of Kalifornia...MANY of which are ILLEGAL ALIEN votes.

Build the WALL, keep your ilk out of this country...

Very good, someone here is actually aware. Most don't know that 1.5 million have been been removed from the voter roles in CA alone after a successful lawsuit. So those crying "yeah but the popular vote" just got their margin cut in half. Give it time, the numbers will show Trump won the popular and electorate once the fraud is completely flushed out.

Re-read the article and the ruling. You can't just show up and vote if your name is on the list.

But let's call it like it is: the conservative obsession voter roll purges are mostly about trying to make it harder to vote. This was employed with particular effectiveness in Georgia and NC.

Speaking of NC and Georgia, THAT is where the election fraud has been at its worse.

Politicians should always be criticized and questions.

If they make mistakes, they should be mocked, ridiculed, and made to fear their electorate.

The entire point of the 1st Amendment is so we can criticize those in power, mock them, ridicule them, challenge them, and vote them out of office should they screw up.

If the 1st Amendment doesn't work, and the politicians ignore the criticism and the votes, and our government becomes too big to be held accountable for their abuses in ignoring our 1st Amendment rights, then we have an alternative:

The 2nd Amendment. This exists to ensure the citizens are well armed should the need arise to clean house. Should politicians disregard the 1st Amendment, the 2nd Amendment assures the citizens will always have power to prevent their government from abusing them. The 2nd Amendment exists so that politicians are always, always, always afraid of the wrath of the people should they cross a line.
