I’m so glad Simms decided to return for his senior season.

We still haven’t recovered from K.J. McDaniels leaving early for the NBA, so there’s no telling what would’ve happened if Simms left early too.

Pretty sure his draft status made that decision for him***

If people were as good as their obituary - and products were as good as advertised - this would truly be a wonderful world !!

Yep, I'm excited for Clemson, but I do wonder if it has a lot more to do with his draft status than wanting to come back to Clemson. Doesn't really matter, glad to have him back, but I hope he is able to return and improve his draft status. Unfortunately, the way things go nowadays with basketball and football, there is no guarantee that you do improve draft status.

He wasn’t likely to be drafted this year.

And he knew that before declaring for the draft.

Like many before him, he declared so he could get valuable feedback for his senior season and hopeful pro career after that.

I choose to view his return as him wanting to be at Clemson. He obviously loves Clemson, his teammates, and his coaches. He could’ve gone pro now and had a nice career in Europe. It’s not like he is back only because he didn’t have any other options.
