Auburn & Toomer's Corner questions..

Aug 14, 2016, 9:14 AM

1. Did i see a pic of their having a Huge PAW painted within entire intersection at Toomer's Corner?

2. When Clemson wins game (around 11:30 pm there; 12:30 here)..will town allow us to roll the "new" trees?

3. If so, should we use an Orange OR Purple tinted toilet paper?

What Says You?

walk away with our dignity and our heads held high. I'm just not much for messing with somebody else's traditions.

and we are staying as a group with some of her former teammates while in Auburn for the game. I would expect our fans to be polite and complimentary to the Auburn hosts. In my opinion, Auburn is the closest thing to a sister school to Clemson in the southeast. We have a lot of similarities from both being land grant schools, heavy engineering emphasis, as well as lots of historical ties dating back to the beginning of our football program in the late 1890's.

Not to mention the old "...Clemson is Auburn with a lake...." comment most SEC fans make when they come to Clemson.

Go Tigers!!

If there's no ring on the finger then it's open season on the wimmins.

That rule only pertains to the home wimmins. Out of town wimmins is get all you can, branded or not branded. Free grazers sort of!!!

Auburn is our sister school

Aug 14, 2016, 12:06 PM [ in reply to This ^^^. My wife is a former scholarship athlete at Auburn ]

Or so I've heard. I havr heard we have two: Auburn and ICHEC (a university in Belgium).

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm not rolling their trees, but I'm ok if you want to paint

Aug 14, 2016, 9:27 AM

Over our tiger paw. Outside of high school I hate other teams trying to use our paw or an altered version of ours.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

it's not painted, it's brick

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

How neat..wish City of Clemson had done that brick PAW!

Aug 14, 2016, 9:34 AM

And yes, i remember Now that it was not painted but inlaid brick. ThX SCOOTER!

It was a painted paw years ago.....

Aug 14, 2016, 9:48 AM [ in reply to it's not painted, it's brick ]

but I believe that brick inlay was added as the old trees were removed.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

the new brick one looks like an obvious smoothed out version of ours.

Aug 14, 2016, 11:30 AM

the painted one they had before looked ridiculous, like it was drawn by a 5-year old.

I think a permanent reminder of Clemson in the heart of Auburn is a good thing. Funny, but perfectly appropriate these days.

Messing with their trees or paw would be a good way

Aug 14, 2016, 9:45 AM

to get in a fight, get arrested, or get run over.
Plus we're being presumptive if we don't think
this game is going to be tough, hard fought, and
close.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

agree...their fans and the local constabulary are

Aug 14, 2016, 9:57 AM

still a bit skittish about opposing fans doing anything around the Toomer's Corner area since the Harvey Updike incident

Color me presumptive.

Aug 14, 2016, 12:23 PM [ in reply to Messing with their trees or paw would be a good way ]

This will only be close if we're giving our younger guys a shot at experience and making the highlight tape.

Thanks for posting this article. I don't remember hearing about the 1 o'clock tilt for the kickoff time.
I do remember how exciting it was the 1st time we drove to a game and found the paws painted on the highway as we entered town.

Mizzou also using paw

Looks almost just like ours but they removed the hook

Re: Mizzou also using paw

Aug 14, 2016, 1:17 PM

Mizzou paw looks like something fit for a dumpster. There is only one Paw that really means anything, and that is the Clemson Paw, a real Tiger would wear our Paw over all others!!!

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I remember even the Auburn fans had a thread at the time

Aug 14, 2016, 11:51 AM

that read "Why are we putting a Clemson paw at Toomer's Corner?"

Re: I remember even the Auburn fans had a thread at the time

Aug 14, 2016, 1:19 PM

Bc they favor us without a lake:)
