they'd have to lose 3 to not make it in,

but 3 sec losses is equal to no losses in every other conference.

a two loss Bama is not getting in the CFP ahead of any undefeated conference champion.

I don't see it happening this year.

I think we are going to see really strong candidates from the B1G and Big XII this year. Right now I'm kind of expecting at least 12-1 Oklahoma and 12-1 B1G champ (most likely Ohio State). If we also manage to right the ship and finish 13-0, ALL THREE of those teams would be in ahead of any non-SEC-champion SEC team. I don't care if you have a Bama - LSU - Auburn round robin where all 3 split against each other, one goes to the title game and beats a 12-0 Georgia leaving 12-1 champ, 12-1 Georgia, and two 11-1 teams - NONE OF THEM WILL GET IN except the SEC champ in that scenario.
In order for them to get 2 teams in they need other teams to slip up. They might get in ahead of 12-1 Clemson. They would probably get in ahead of 11-2 Big XII and/or B1G champs. They aren't getting in ahead of 13-0 Clemson or 12-1 Big XII and/or B1G champs. It's just not happening.

but even with three losses you'd hear some of the talking heads (i.e., Paul Finebaum) campaigning for Bama to be in the playoffs on the basis that even with three losses they are still one of the top four team in the country.

I agree, but not because they haven't played anyone yet - this is the softest defense Saban has had at Bama and they've had bad oline and RB play so far this season. They're essentially a one trick pony with their air raid offense. They'll get beat by LSU and Auburn and will get shipped to the Outback Bowl in Tampa.

They literally have no defense. 500 yards and 31 points to Ole Miss! I want Bama in the finals. Over and over again until the idiot talking heads get it. We will shut them down. We will be better on offense. Bring it.

And you expect Saban to continue to have no defense?

Sure it COULD happen, but based on his 12 year track record at Bama, it seems kind of foolish to assume it.

They start this weekend with a visit to College Station to visit TAMU, which had a good victory Saturday over Arkansas at AT&T Stadium, and a home game later on vs LSU and the season-ender at Auburn. The rest of their games should be winable.

Not go to seccg and Satan will whine for a week. Then they will get the easiest four seed matchup. Seen it before. tOSU, OU, and LSU have not played anyone. Expect losses there to open doors.

Their D is average, but their offense is amazing. I wonder if anyone can stop them.

this year will be no different.
They'll hit Burrow once ... he'll get rattled ... let the onslaught begin.

I don't see any team beating tOSU, so they are in. If we win out, then we're in. Only a miracle could prevent OU from going undefeated, so they are probably in. Only 1 spot is left for the SECCG winner (AU, UA, LSU, or UGA).
If Bama loses 2 - they are OUT - PERIOD.
