more than the state of Alabama.

Alabama is going to stay a national contender as long as Saban is the HC, UGa has been rather mediocre by their standard over the last decade or so, we don't need them to follow our National title with one of their own. We have out recruited UGa for some of the best players in their state for the last 5-6 years, we need UGa to get spanked by Alabama.

Haven't won the natty in 3 decades.....Kirby's classes have been #7, #3, and now #1. Win or lose Monday won't effect Uga's recruiting.

classes from being ranked in the top three last year and this year is small classes. We will likely not sign more than 17 players this year, and we only signed 14 last year.

Last year Clemson ranked 10th in recruiting by ESPN with only 14 signees. UGa was ranked 3rd with 26 signees, almost twice as many as Clemson. Same thing this year, UGa is ranked #1 with 23 signees, where Clemson is ranked 5th with only 15 signees. The 2019 class will be the first Clemson class with more than 20 signees since the 22 signees in 2016.

UGa's 2017 and 2018 signees currently equal 49 signees from just two classes, and UGa is actively recruiting 4-5 more players. Even if you only sign 3 more players, with no redshirts, that only leaves 33 signees combined over the next two classes (85 max).

Over the last four classes (including the 2018 class), UGa has signed 100 players (30 in 2015, 21 in 2016, 26 in 2017, and so far, 23 in 2018)

Over the same period, Clemson signed 26 in 2015, 22 in 2016, 14 in 2017, and currently 15 in 2018, totaling 77 players.

UGa has signed 23 more players than Clemson over the last four years, that is essentially another class. Either players are not qualifying at UGa, or they are being run off to allow for the over signing of 13 players over 4 years, assuming no redshirts. The only other options would be 13 players leaving as juniors this season, or some combination of that and UGa signing and placing players into JUCO or prep school over the last four years. In that case, the rankings are stilted by players who didn't make it into school.

Clemson has not signed a JUCO player since 2006.

Dabo is signing stud classes just not big enough to rank top 5/10. I'm not fooled by the math. Kirby is constantly processing his roster. Saban taught him well.

conference divisions. When SCAR is the second best team in your division, your division stinks.

The only reason UGa beat Auburn in round two was because Alabama had created some injuries for Auburn in their loss to the Tigers the week before the SEC title game. That and two Auburn turnovers deep in UGa territory, and a missed FG by Auburn.

Auburn spanked UGa in the first game.

I hear you ‘13. Lived/worked in Atlanta 35 years and have great friends that are UGA fans. And the same in SC, lived/raised until leaving after graduating.

The ‘burn’ is knowing that the coots and their UGA ‘ilk’ (don’t know of any name given to the obnoxious dawg fans) are just so utterly annoying WHEN they do win.

Makes it VERY hard to ‘pull’ for either one.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: If you are pulling for Georgia.

Jan 3, 2018, 10:04 PM

Think we have to get used to the fact that UGA will play in top tier with us and Saban for near future. Nobody in pac12 or Big 10 can compete and rare will it be when a big 12 will make the dance. As for recruits, we will always from now until Dabo leaves get the exact right guys to come play as Tigers so I don't really care about who wins from that perspective. My butt still hurts from the punch in the mouth we took Monday night and the 12 hour drive back yesterday... we underestimated how pissed Saban could get them and we got caught with our hands down walking into a bar fight. That won't ever happen again, Dabo wrote it down in his little black book of secrets. In the end, I have come to believe that we will play in quite a few final fours for the next few years and as such I want kirby's team to beat nicks team by about 30 to humble some of the fans who "wished me well" after the game...and yes I was there when Butler kicked the field goal and I don't like them, I'm just rooting for them this week as I don't want the Bama helmet to say 17.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If Georgia wins Dabo realizes that all he needed was a QB

Jan 3, 2018, 10:33 PM

If Bama wins Dabo keeps KB as QB

If Georgia wins and puts up decent points, Dabo realizes that he needs QB competition.

Growing up and going to school in the Anderson area was a nightmare with all the hick UGA fans trickling across the border for a day out on the "town". They were insufferably arrogant

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

As I stated in another thread...

Jan 4, 2018, 6:11 AM

I never pull for either one of these teams unless they are playing the coots or their winning helps Clemson in some twisted way. In my perfect world, both teams would lose but since that is not possible - I'm pulling for Bama to win.

In fact, I hope Bama curbstomps the leghumpers into a steaming pile of UGA's excrement. I mean like 70 to 0 kind of beat down. My reasoning - Bama winning another Natty means very little in the big scheme of things (they already have the narrative of greatest Coach ever, best team ever, best dynasty etc...). UGA winning a Natty gives credence to their rise to prominence and can only help them in recruiting. Furthermore, I'm an '88 Clemson graduate and remember all too well those Clemson vs UGA rivalry years and would not pee in UGA's mouth if their brains were on fire...

Re: If you are pulling for Georgia.

Jan 6, 2018, 8:05 AM

Don't know about 30 but if you were around for the rivalry in the 80's then I think that it is a little odd. If you are too young, then think about Coot fans now and step it down in class a notch. I've heard multiple stories of kids being spit on for wearing Clemson gear, and although many are probably heresy turned into first hand accounts, I am fairly confident that a friend of mine's son who was 8 to 10 at the time was telling the truth about being spit on. Georgia fans may actually be worse than Coot fans in a way because they are extraordinarily rude as a winning program. Don't know how much I am pulling for Alabama, but I am Certainly pulling AGAINST Georgia.
