If you are a GM looking to draft a DE... Shaq or Dodd???

A case can easily be made for both

Shaq: Versatility,leadership, can play both the run and pass, charismatic (could be the face of your franchise) solid production. I see a 10 year pro with 3 or 4 pro bowls Comp: Trevor Pryce

Dodd: Just scratching the surface, Has developed an almost unstoppable swim and rip move. Length, sudden explosion and elite hand placement, trending towards unblockable (see Alabama) Played his best against the best competition (ND,FSU, and Bama) Comp: Bruce Smith??

I think Lawson gets the edge but I love Dodds background....working for everything, never giving up and taking advantage of his one season to shine. Of course having Lawaon on the other side helped.

I think Shaq. He does a better job of setting the edge and stopping the run as well as rushing the QB. I think he's a more all around DE, where Dodd is a better rusher. He could become a better all around then Lawson with time, but right now I think Lawson has the edge. Just my opinion.

As it stands right now, based on what he brings against the pass and the run it's got to be Shaq. If you're a team looking to better your pass rush I think you go Dodd. He is a better pure pass rusher but Shaq is more versatile over all.

the effectiveness of player development at Clemson over the past 5 years or so.

Kevin Dodd went from being considered a big question mark and potential weak link in the defense pre-season to a possible 1st round pick.
