If the virus is so dangerous to college football players

That the Big Ten closed down football for 1400 players, shouldn't Kevin Walter have his son opt-out at Mississippi State?
NB: Of course I do not believe the son should suffer for the sins of his father and do believe that he should play ball if given the opportunity this fall.

Kevin Warren is the Big10 commissioner.
The final decision to not play football was not made by the athletic departments. My understanding is that many if not most of the AD's wanted to move forward and play.
It was made by the presidents (or equivalent) of the universities within the Big10 and Pac.
I personally am absolving Warren's son of any perceived sins of his father.
