If the rumors are true, is Chad making a bad choice?

Nov 28, 2014, 3:32 PM

I have no idea who UF will hire, but I have heard Gary Patterson mentioned as a possible choice. He he did go to UF, would the TCU job not be a much better choice than SMU for CM?

If he took the the SMU job and then the TCU job came available, he would be kicking himself in the arss!

Why would Chad not wait until some of this has played out?

Taking a 2 mil annual raise is never a bad choice

For anyone

Well...not really. What if the $2M meant you would be working so much you would never see your kids grow up..any amount of money worth that? Of course, he is probably that busy already...

You make it seem like CM is an offensive genius, I wouldn't imagine good programs having an interest in him

Because he's been so anxious

Nov 28, 2014, 4:00 PM

to be a HC that he will jump at the 1st job offered. Has shown that the past 3 years by interviewing for virtually every vacancy. Appreciate what he's done here, ready to move on to someone who actually wants to be here.

A big time, established, program isn't offering Chad. Heck, he couldn't even get the Vandy, or NC State jobs. Big time programs aren't going to take a chance on a coordinator who put up gaudy numbers against the flunkies, but who looked rather pedestrian most every time he went against quality competition. He needed to get out when he could. Got to go to a mid level type and see if you have it as a head coach and move up from there.

You're nuts

You interview for experience.

This line of "get someone who wants to be here" is laughable. You guys think he's doing you a disservice by pursuing a dream.

Stupid.

And you interview to keep your name in the headlines, it's self promotion.

How many confirmed interviews has he had?***

who cares if he fails or does well? if he is not here what difference do we care as Clemson fans once he is gone. but at 3 million a year for multi years, I am sorry, but he will be ok as well as his kids.

probably was about what CM is making now. It will be CM's death nail as a future college HC.

You're right. He should definitely turn down a job on the assumptions that 1. Another job opens up and 2. He can get said job. By right I mean dumb.
