If the Big 12 folds, there will be no 2020 college football

Aug 11, 2020, 6:19 PM

No matter how much ESECPN loves the SEC, they and the ACC can’t hold under the pressure that the talking heads will lay down on them. There’s no leadership and no backbone in college athletics.
I hope I’m wrong, but these schools are scared to death of the liability and the media.

they are ESPN's talking heads. ACC and SEC need to stand pat regardless

Guess we all need to buy some Netflix and Hulu stock.

Wondering if the economics have fallen out of 2020 CFB.

Force majeure clauses may be impacting TV contracts and advertising contracts. The risk of big players out, teams unavailable to play, cancelled games, shortened seasons could mean that the “guaranteed” money to conferences from TV is not guaranteed? Other advertising revenue is also significantly limited. Thiese losses combined with significantly reduced or no ticket sales means the revenue is just not there. Add in the legal liability, potential increase in insurance premiums and all Covid precautionary costs, I am thinking it’s 100% about economics. Revenue way down, costs up and increased legal liability?
