If OSU loses could we theoretically still play Bama

Dec 7, 2013, 9:48 PM

If I understand correctly the bowls whose conference affiliations are selected get replacement picks based on ranking. So if FSU is #1 then the Orange would get the 1st pick, followed by the Sugar. After that the picks are Orange, Sugar and Fiesta.

If that's the case and the Orange wanted a CU/Bama matchup, they could pick Alabama as the FSU replacement, screwing the Sugar out of an SEC team..Then select Clemson with their at-large pick, as I'm certain the Sugar would not select Clemson as their replacement to AU.

The orange would have to get permission to take an SEC team from the Sugar

Correct me if I am wrong, but if OSU loses,Auburn goes to
#2 and moves into the NC game against FSU.Bama, ahead of Missouri in the polls would most likely go to the Orange( with the first pick) vs Clemson while Missouri goes to the Sugar.
Now,as to whether or not Missouri gets OSU,I don't know.

Auburn goes to National Champ. Each bowl then gets a choice of replacing its conf affliation. Bama would be in Sugar. Then the pecking order starts. Orange goes first and would prob pick OSU
