I was forced to do something Saturday I had not done in years

I listened to the game on the radio. The post hurricane situation with my company required me to work. I had heard a good bit of criticism of Don Munson so my expectations for his play-by-play work were low. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Many won’t agree but I found Munson to be quite adequate as a play-by-play announcer. While Jim Phillips will always be the greatest we must remember that with all the games being on television now radio play-by-play is becoming something of a lost art. I’m old enough to remember when the radio was our connection to the away games and home games we were unable to attend. Also in those days I was a “better” listener than I am now because I did more of it. While Munson is not Jim Phillips he sure as heck ain’t Todd Ellis. I haven’t heard him in years but from what I remember he is the worst.

You're right, compared to TE, Munson is great.

When he first started he was pretty bad. A lot of shouting and yelling but he has improved a lot over the years.

I had to listen to the Ga Tech game via radio over internet and enjoyed it very much. Our radio announcer beat the sheets out of most TV chatterers.

I was never a fan of Jim Phillips. I grew up listening to a lot better ones for other schools than him. I like who we have now.
