Just got back from the game

Thoughts
Innings 1-5 were about as frustrating as it gets at the plate. The rest of the game i think the crowd was in shock at how well the guys were seeing the ball. I dont know if that is our bats coming around or the bullpen for Will and Mary completely stinking the joint up.
I think at some point Campana needs a role in this lineup. His bat is legit. I have seen it first hand. Everything he hits are #### missles. I know he is a freshmen, but your going to have to play him.
At this point it is fair to say our weekend rotation is Gossett (Friday), Firth (Saturday), ? (Sunday). Your going to need to develop some young pitchers and fast before the real competition arrives
Boulware played well. Firth balled out. I wish McGibbon could get going. If we are going to be consistent with run support he is going to have to produce.
Good game. Your resident downer CU fan. Adios.

I think McGibbon will be OK. Hit some shots right at people

this weekend. Don't think he will ever be the big-time power-hitting first baseman, but I think he can be serviceable.
Agree with you on Campana. I wonder if he can play third? If he is at least average defensively, he'd probably be an upgrade over Baum offensively with more pop.

He played third in the fall scrimmages, but I think he should play first. His bat is something.

I couldn't understand the beginning of his video, but it sounded as though he pitched late in the game.

One of the foul balls...

nearly took off Jack Leggett's head (which would probably suit some people fine). He hit it REALLY hard, it just happened to be foul.

This may be the most intelligent palmettoson post ever. The problem with Campana is where to play him. Right now he's a defensive liability pretty much wherever you put him. That will change with time, as it did with Parker. But Jack is generally going to go with the best defensive lineup he has, at least initially. And the defense played pretty well this weekend.
It would be great if McGibbon could hit 270-280, but remember, he barely hit his weight most of last year. Finally got it going at the ACC tournament, but that does not appear to have carried over.
Based on what I saw Saturday I think Schmidt may get a shot at the Sunday start. But, you could well see Andrews again. He really did not throw badly, just couldn't catch a break.
You may also see Gibson in LF. The main issue there is he is not very good defensively.
Boulware had one good day with the bat, but looked clueless the rest of the time. You may see Bradley get some time behind the play, or at least some more at bats. Doubt you see many other changes for now. He MIGHT move Baum to short and try somebody else at third, but I doubt it.
