Of course they are in the tank. They are in it, on it, below it, beside it, and behind it.

And I fully support their 1st Amendment rights to support whoever they think is best for their business, including giving free advertising via Tweets.
That said, this might be a good time to revisit the issue of campaign finance reform.

You're saying its okay for big tech to force you to follow accounts that you don't want to follow?
This post is probably not true, and the associated instagram account is not true, but.. your response insinuates that you think it would be fine if this happened.

If you come over to my house for a party on a Sunday, and I have the game on that I want to watch, and you start complaining that you don't want to watch that one and instead want to watch the Patriots (you seem like you would be a Pats fan), and I tell you no, it's gonna stay on the game I chose, what are your options?
It's my house. You aren't required to be there. You have options to leave and go watch your game how you see fit.
That's how it works here. Social media are luxury commodities that you don't have to use. It's their platform and their rules. So if that's what they make you do, so be it. I don't like it that Facebook shows me ads of stupid "murder mystery in a box date nights" or "order a box of meat through our monthly subscription" because one of my friends "Liked" it even though they have no intention of ordering it. But that's Facebook's right to do it, and I just have to get over it.
You know. The freedom of a private company to operate their platforms as they see fit. Free market and all. The actual conservative response.
Some of y'all lately are really learning how not conservative you really are.

Especially if you think it's "communist" for a private corporation to set its own terms and services, and operate its content based on the First Amendment and the free market.
There's a lot of irony there for those of you who want government restrictions placed on social media. Which is what you want, isn't it?

That's not how social media works. Forcing you to follow a certain account in order to utilize their services is not how social media works. That's like apple placing a U2 album on your phone. No one liked that.
But of course, it's easy to do as you please when there's no competition in the marketplace.

Good point on the Apple/U2 thing. People didn't like it. And Apple had to adjust to please their customers. That's the market in effect. Apple also has several new music platforms to compete against and has to cater to customers' demands.
Apple was douchey to force U2 on their customers, but it was still their right. Facebook can force you to follow an account (but I doubt they're doing that because that doesn't really happen and T3 has shown he doesn't really know how tech stuff or the Internet works).
There is other competition, but most importantly, you don't need or have to have social media. It's not a necessity. Thus, bitching about content on it is ridiculous.
Still not sure what your issue is with it.

Twitter can force you to follow anyone they wish and you are free to use any social media company you wish.
Welcome to America, home of the free. That cuts both ways.

Naturally, stupid people will see this as bias against themselves.
