Put a pot on it and steam oysters, frogmore stew, whatever. Seems to be called an outdoor burner from what I can tell.

and not one of these:
Protip: for the first one, use MAPP gas. It costs a little more, but burns hotter so you will light it faster.

Mainly to minimize swapping/filling them all the time. Still, do that maybe twice a year.

I went through a phase where I learned it was cheaper to buy somewhat full tanks at yard sales than to get them filled.
I only keep the 3 best ones filled and since I sold my gas grill 2 years ago, haven’t had to buy any for my emergency heater or my flattop griddle.
I also have 2 acetylene and three oxygen tanks and a couple of tanks of MAPP gas.
What cha wanna burn?

Unlikely. I've only bought maybe 1 tank in my life.
Mar 4, 2021, 10:41 AM
|
|
I think they are like $40 empty. The others I've acquired over the years from folks moving, a friends dad that passed, etc. Knowing they are $40, I'm like SURE I'LL TAKE IT.
I really don't need 6, but it does keep me from having to get them filled on the reg. That said, I'm pretty sure I've refilled 4-5 of them on probably 4-5 different occasions over the past year. So they do get used.
Blackstone 36 Propane heater (screw in to top of tank kind) Single standalone burner Taller mushroom heater
They seem to go quick 'round here.

for the new smoker. Occasionally use a tank-top heater. I have a quick-connect to the house tank in the screened porch to fuel the gas grill, never run out whilest grilling.

and I don't even need them, because grill hooked up to gas line
i waffle between getting rid of them, and maybe possibly one day getting a propane heater for the patio.
$10 I still have them sitting in the garage in 10 years
