How do the rules apply to Coach's kids?

Feb 1, 2017, 12:38 PM

Do they just throw the rule book out on those?

Do all(or maybe) most of the rules still apply to the other coaches?

Is there some sort of clause about the player being a child of a coach?

Really easy to figure out, using below rules

Feb 1, 2017, 12:53 PM

1. Always let son on team until he proves he can't hack
2. Never waste a scholarship if parents are millionaires

This is what I have a questions about

will Venables son be on scholarship at Clemson or will Venables pay for his son to go to school to free up an extra scholarship?

I'm very interested to see how this shakes out next year.

My question is impermissible benefits. For instance what parent doesn't give their kid money for college? How will that work out? I was thinking about that this morning.

there is something called "pre existing relationship" clause that allows a coach to give his son who is playing things like cars, spending money, etc.
same rule also allows family members or friends to do things like transport a kid to games, take them out to eat, etc..... IF IF IF.. they can prove they were doing those things before the kid became a 'recruitable athlete", which i believe starts in their soph year of high school.

Pretty sure there are rules in place

For relationships that existed prior to the recruiting process mostly for relatives of recruits that have an association with the school.
