How bad was Clemson hit last night?

Apr 13, 2020, 1:56 PM

I live in northern Oconee county, and we have a lot of trees down, and the wind blew the backside of my shop out. Seneca is bad, a lot of people without power, but haven’t heard about the Clemson campus or town.

Haven’t been on campus but went to work and back this AM. I live down Pendleton road, about 20 houses within 1/2 mile of us with trees on their roofs, on a quick 3 min drive around the area, but otherwise not too horrendous around here. Main strip of 123 pretty unremarkable, some trees down downtown in the older neighborhoods. Haven’t been on campus. Seneca definitely got the worst of it. Seems to have skipped over most of campus

Wasn't near as bad as could have been. The tornado weakened

just as it got to the lake. Trees down here and there but not as bad as other storms through the years.

Much worse in Oconee county.

Sounded like s train was rolling through. Mainly flying debris from all the oak trees. I saw birch was blown down.

Seneca was absolutely mauled. I have a farm in Fair Play in Oconee County. It got hit hard too. But nothing like Seneca!!

Thanks for the info. My friends in Seneca are still without power. The damage is unreal. Glad to hear Clemson wasn’t too bad. Prayers for everyone.
