Hey Kegerator's - I just got mine up & running. What’s

the trick for less foam on pours once the keg has been topped off a little bit ? LESS CO2 pressure or more ? Have been looking for the best starting pressure but haven’t found anything yet.

Tia ahead of time for any experience tips & tricks

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

Been a while since we had 1 set up, but I'm pretty sure we were running around 3.5 psi. Anything more than that and it's going to be foamy. Also, it takes a little while for newly tapped keg to settle down.

Also to add, co2 is fine for Miller lite etc. but if you get something fancier you want to have a nitrogen bottle to swap out the co2.

It really depends on the length and size of the beer line but most kegerators we set are at 8 to 12 psi and make sure the temp is between 36 -38 degrees. If it’s a used box with old lines make sure you break down and clean the faucet and beer line out.

Nice first post. Way to save up for a good one!

You need to balance your pressure, line length, line size, and vertical rise to get it to pour correctly.

Here is a link that explains it:

Simply disconnect the keg and roll it about 20 feet on the ground, then flip it end over end back to the hoses. Reattach and try again.

YWIA in advance.

line length. I can't remember if it has to be longer or shorter. I had that problem for a while, too. If your keg is new, it needs to sit a little while and the temp has to normalize.

Had one years ago, it was for a pony or half keg. Half the beer was always the foam. Was the lack of a cooler temperature

Backing off the pressure helps....

But keg beer will always be foamy. A good solution is to fill a pitcher that stays in the refrigerator. That way the foam in the pitcher goes down while you drink it.

This is way over my head for the reason that all the beer that I drink comes from a Bud Light Bottle. Sorry, but I'm no help with keg pouring nor drinking of Keg beer of any flavor!!! ;);)

Beer lines need to be 8-12 feet.

I dispense at 10 psi. I have experienced more foam when setting psi to 12

Also, do you have the mini fridge set up with the tower? If so, the tower needs to be insulated. Also you can buy computer fan and tubings o get the cold air to circulate up the tower. If the tower is essentially room temp, you will have foam

The best help that I can offer though is this, chop big holes in the keg and recycle. Buy you a Coleman 60+ Quart cooler, half fill with your favorite beer, go to one of those self service out door Ice vending machines, and there you go, less expensive ice and ice cold beer. Bring an extra cooler, 32 quart, and fill to the top for extra ice when needed in beer cooler. No foamy beer, and no plastic cups setting every where, or thrown down on the ground to be picked up, just bottles or cans. But cans only in pool area!!! :)
