Who was your "first favorite" Tiger(s) when you were a kid?

Sep 14, 2016, 7:26 AM

Looking through some old rosters on line and saw some names that brought back memories. Also laughing at the weights of the OL and DL....man, times have changed.

There were a couple for me....

The days of the tear-away jersey....Warren Ratchford, Lester Brown and Harold Goggins (didn't play much, but my dad coached in high school)

Like 6'1"-6'2"ish and 300lbs? I thought it was his quickness and speed for that size that made him so good. Of course against high schoolers, he looked like a giant probably.

1981 was 265lbs... Perry was listed as 6-3, 310lbs in 1982.

He was a giant to an 11 year old.... :)

The 1959 Bluebonnet Bowl was the 1st game I can remember watching. Harvey White was my hero. Threw a TD pass in the 4th quarter for the lead and the Tigers were loose.

I was Roger Staubach out in the yard until I started watching the Tigers. Then it was Fuller all the way. My favorite number was 4.
Before that, in my first year of football, I wore 41 because of Charlie Waters, but I didn't realize then that he had played for Clemson and hadn't yet become a fan.

Oh, and Chip Davis....for that one play in the '88 FSU game. Only to be overshadowed by the **** Puntrooskie play later that game.
