try to repair some drywall. I am terrible at this stuff, I will probably end up with having to just pull a bookcase over it and call it a day, but I am going to try my best.
My son thought he could be Roger Clemens in his bedroom and now we have a very large hole.

Get one of those mesh patches and some spackle. I've almost always needed to sand way more that I have, but easy enough.

Get a sanding sponge and keep it damp. Will still make dust but not as bad.

instead of 2 coats of mud and sanding a lot. Use fiberglass tape. Cut the hole back to a stud on each. A big rectangular hole is easier to repair than a small round hole.

all. Watch a youtube video.
Buy a piece of patch sheetrock at lowes. Heck, they have the whole kit there with everything you need.
Do whatever it takes to mount the patch (this is where the youtube video is handy). Spackle in a ton of putty, whatever. Smooth it out. Let it dry. Sand it down. Paint. Won't even be able to tell. Only way you can see the repair in our garage is because the paint didn't match perfectly. If it did though, you couldn't tell. PAINTING sucks.
