Friday games are bad for the ACC.

They would likely have two undefeated teams in the ACCCG and have a chance to get two teams in the playoff if it were not for putting us and Miami on the road on a Friday. It's not an excuse for losing but let's face the fact that the road team usually does not win weekday games.

It's not an excuse to lose to a team like Syracuse but I agree Friday is for HS football

It is a stretch to say both teams would be undefeated if the games would have been played on Saturday. The truth is both were trap games regardless if played on Friday and Saturday. The truth is neither Miami or Clemson were prepared to play that week

Maybe and we will never know for sure. IMO College football is for Saturdays and the results don't lie. The road team usually loses games played during the week.

The actual truth is the distance plus the day it's played. From Clemson to Syracuse is about 859mi and From Miami to Pittsburgh it's 1100mi. That matters

It doesn’t help that they were against Pitt and Syracuse who run complicated tempo offenses. Hard to prepare for them on a short week and neither one has done anything in their other games to make it a decent loss.

Think about who has had to go on the road to play Friday night games, 3 of which had to travel outside of the original ACC territory to play. The Atlantic Division winner and the preseason pick and the Coastal Champion and preseason fave. At least VT played in the same state and pulled out a win.
