For those interested, latest on Meyer to Texas rumors.

If y'all aren't interested in this stuff, just let me know. I enjoy following the coaching carousel. I'll be glad to keep posting info on schools not directly related to Clemson, But if y'all aren't interested, that is understandable. I'm a guest. Just let me know.
https://footballscoop.com/news/sources-an-update-on-urbans-meeting-with-texas-and-his-status/Sources: An update on Urban's meeting with Texas, and his status Texas coach Tom Herman has tried to proceed with business as usual in the wake of his team’s come-from-ahead loss last week at home against Iowa State, a move that left the Longhorns cut from the Big 12 Championship picture and left Herman’s future cloudy as the top Longhorn. Thursday, sources with direct knowledge confirmed […]
Footballscoop is a website that has been around for over 20 years. I do not consider them to be "the gospel" of coaching searches. But, over the years, I have found them to be more accurate than what you see on twitter, Facebook, message boards, and "journalists" who specialize in click-bait stories.
At this point, I believe that Urban and Texas are in serious negotiations. But, I don't know if it is a done deal or not and they are just waiting on the right day to announce it. (Jimbo Fisher and LSU were in serious negotiations 2 years before he left for aTm.)
Texas has a game scheduled on 12/12. I doubt they would wait until 12/13 to announce firing Herman and then announce Urban with early signing day being 12/16. I gotta believe if "Urban is a done deal" the announcement will be made no later than Monday, Dec. 7th.

uniforms I have ever seen. What's with the squiggly stripe on the pants. Unless it is in keeping with the theme of the football team, and can't figure out which way it is going?

3 or 4 of those guys should introduce their pants to their shoes so they can party.

That outfit would have been a big hit at the local Texas saloon back in 1870. Probably still would be a big hit at the local Texas bar.

Keep this stuff coming Bret!
I really enjoy it and the way I see it, it does have an impact on Clemson.
Pretty much every coaching decision in the country will either affect Clemson directly or indirectly because of how easy it is for players to transfer to or from Clemson's opponents.
Also hiring and firing everywhere has an impact on ACC schools who are looking to make a move or make changes to assistants on their staffs.
Finally, and now more than ever, any move from a major recruiting school in the country can affect Clemson because of how wide a net our coaching staff is casting when looking for players.
You have think this instability at Texas helped the Tigers get a commitment from a guy like Andrew Mukuba out of Austin. Hopefully if they make a change and a quick hire, Andrew will still be All In for the Tigers!

Are Texas recruits over rated or do Texas commits just get an extra star ?

Footballscoop is the National Enquirer of football news. They'll report just about anything people send them as if it was the gospel.
Give it a try.

They used to do that. In fact I sent them a rumor years ago, based on something I read from a friend of mine on a Nole message board, and they printed it.
After the split, they seem to be doing less and less of that.
But, like I say, I don't consider them to be an umimpeachable source by any means. Just saying I would put them a cut above what I read on a coot message board or on twitter from some guy who says, "My inside source3 says...."

I'm trainable. And, I actually attended Clemson one summer (took a couple of graduate math courses) so some of that had to have rubbed off on me.

His father-in-law is a HUGE uof6c supporter. According to the father-in-law, the Coots are also talking to Chris Rumph who played for the Capons under Sparky Woods and Brad Scott.
Rumph has been all over the coaching map with stops at Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Texas, Memphis, South Carolina State and Clemson. I believe he currently coaches the OLB's for the Houston Texans.

That would be cheeky.
Urban is angling for the job of one of his former assistants? Talk about pruning your own coaching tree.

I think Texas would not fit Urban. Urban strikes me as an “anything goes” type guy. Texas would be an “anything goes” program.....but they can’t be. OU & TAMU (yes I know TAMU changed conferences, doesn’t matter) will NOT sit quietly by while Texas tries to run a shady program. OU & TAMU will watch Texas extremely closely (yes they will do the NCAA’s job for them) and they will bring every conceivable gun to bare on Texas.
In short, Urban will get Texas in trouble.

spell trouble for Ohio State. The #1 recruit for 2022 is 5* QB Quinn Evers from Texas and he decommitted a couple weeks ago from Texas and committed to OSU. If Meyer goes to Texas that kid could jump back to Texas.
And according to the OSU YouTube blog I watch sometimes, Lettermen Row, which is their #1 fan & recruiting outlet, there is a 5* WR in Texas that will probably go wherever Quinn Evers goes.
Lettermen Row is really good and they predicted Evers to OSU the day he dumped Texas. They have some big time ex-OSU/NFL guys and they talk about Clemson some because we go head to head with them for some big time recruits.
