For my fellow Soccer loving Tiger Fans & Sports enthusiasts

We're seeing so much chatter about Day's comments, Finebaum's, or "insert coach/player's name here." My response has always been.."what do you expect them to say?" They're going to stick to the hand that feeds them.
It's kind of amusing to see but has me thinking about the difference between U.S. sports fans and the rest of the world.
Remember to when Juergen Klinsmann coached the U.S. Men's National Team. Before the 2014 World Cup he flat out said that the U.S. wouldn't win. (Newsflash! They didn't!) The U.S. media and fans absolutely melted down! We in the U.S seem to have that "if you believe, you can achieve" mentality above pure natural talent, skills, and size/weight/height advantages. Sure, there is the occasional anomaly. It happens! No doubt! But when does "realism" enter into the picture? Is objectivity lost for the majority in American sports?
(Postscript: I'm under a 10 day quarantine for Covid so expect more of these philosophical type questions. ??)
