Football facilities ...

Sep 7, 2016, 11:40 AM

Its hard to imagine that much more can be done with football facilities after the current projects / plans are completed.

One consideration would be an engineering project to alter the stadium so that sound gets "trapped inside", making Death Valley even louder.

Thoughts ?

There will always be something new... we are at the front with the new facility but give it 10 years and something else crazy will come up.

There's already new plans in place for another facility

A new lakefront, luxury housing complex for football players. It can only have 50% players in it, so it should be large enough for all of them.

Wouldn't be surprised if there is another expansion to DV sometime. The jumbo screened WILL be made even larger within the next few years.

I wouldn't be surprised to see another off-campus practice field built sometime that will help take the players out of their comfort zone.

Lastly, don't be surprised to start seeing colleges purchase or contract planes for their teams with logos and such. I'm betting Oregon will be first, but who knows. How cool would a Tiger-covered 747 be?? Let's get the ball rolling!

Didn't we just get a $4.5M CJ2+ business jet for recruiting last April?

Sounds cool! Once they build the new lakefront student

housing for football players (+50.1% non-athletes), they will need to build a monorail from the housing units to the new football operations facility.

;)

How about some shade on the stadium. Even Rome had a roll out velarium to cover the fans from the sun. You'd think in this day and age we could come up with something comparable that won't break the bank.

I too would love to see something like this... But last week, while watching some of the US Open, they were saying that the retractable roofing system installed at Arthur Ashe cost $100M+! Needless to say, we probably won't see that happening anytime soon. The athletes need to get a wave pool and amusement park first. :)

Shade, Traffic improvements, and orange seat backs

Sep 7, 2016, 3:57 PM

The upper deck roasts early in the season. The corners are often not filled. I would suggest putting orange seat backs in those low attendance areas to 1) make those seats more comfortable and 2) make the stadium look solid orange. Also if they can engineer some sort of shade canopy that would be huge plus trap sound!
