Fix is on. 43 had to be paid money for that whiff.

Just no way I can see that as legit. I wish the announcers would actually broach the subject, that would be cool, but Buck and Aikman wouldn't have the brass ones to do that.

I told my family the same thing. if not that

Guy will not be with the Saints next year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Jan 14, 2018, 8:22 PM

To be taught even before the concussion attention --- guys weren't taught fundamentals early and have been ducking their heads for tackles all their lives- it cost him big there

You guys are really funny. When they went back

Jan 14, 2018, 8:58 PM [ in reply to I told my family the same thing. if not that ]

to the studio they said that DB's are taught to not get an interference penalty on last second plays, if he hit him, he would have hit him before the ball arrived, which would have given the Vikings a first down in FG range. It would also give them an untimed down to attempt a FG, as the game can't end on a penalty.

They said as a player, he did what he was coached to do. He couldn't tell from his position if the receiver would even catch the ball, or that he was the only player around to make a stop. Certainly was not "fixed".

He did not even make contact with the receiver.

There is rigging in the NFL (New England), but definitely not in this case

Not fixed. But it was a horrible, horrible play.

Jan 15, 2018, 12:41 AM

I feel sorry for the guy.

He was completely out of control. All he had to do was position himself to make the tackle. Didn't need to prevent the completion.

It's pretty rare to see a pro screw up so badly.

But I hope people aren't ugly to him. Fans can take these things way too far and be ugly.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He told the press that...

Jan 15, 2018, 8:43 AM

he felt he was about to get there too early and came in kind of control, so he didn't want the PI. He also said from his angle he was trying to knock him in bounds and just missed. Because Diggs was near the sideline and Thomas was coming in at such full speed from an odd angle he did,'t want to knock him out of bounds. In the end though he says and admits he just completely blew it.

He was just trying to make sure the guy didn't get out of bounds imo. Crazy guys in the NFL don't know how to keep their head up and wrap up.
