I realized tonight why CFB is so stale and I did not hear

Jan 2, 2021, 12:07 AM

it brought up here - transfer portal. OSU missed on QB and RB in recruiting. No problem with the portal. Even their punter I think it was was a transfer or maybe that was Bama. Either way, there is basically a farm system now. Great for players but terrible for the game. I am happy Clemson does not seem to dabble in scooping people up.

I would be perfectly happy if Clemson scooped up a RB and a couple of linebackers from the portal.

I thought Dabo has said he wants players to develop

In his system or something to that effect...I want to win right now too but I also believe there is great wisdom in Dabo's philosophy. It is also our brand.

hows that working?

Jan 2, 2021, 12:17 AM

because getting players from the transfer portal is working wonders for OSU and Bama. Dabo just needs to not be so darn stubborn and get with the times. its been the demise of coaches for years.

Frustrating to get waxed by a qb who should be at Georgia and a rb who should be at Oklahoma. But I guess that’s the current climate of cfb

and we need to get with it

Jan 2, 2021, 12:18 AM

because if we don't then we are going to be back in the 2000s where winning 7-8 games was a big deal.

I am happy to compete while doing it right

If we don't ever make the playoff, I like to think we wouldn't have half of the team opt out for a meaningless bowl. It's the culture.

I said that but someone told me to transfer to different site

Folks hate me

College football has always been more exciting than the NFL, but it's like they're taking the College out of it now

I don't see a problem picking up a transfer when they have 3 years to develop... As long as you're not taking a spot from a recruit or a promised scholly.

Fair point, my original point was how it is making CFB

Jan 2, 2021, 12:24 AM

top heavy. Bama's best OL was FSU transfer last year. Again, great for him to get to a good team and sucks he was hurt, but terrible for the game.
