Ok. So we can't practice as long because our semester has already started but they can have early enrollees before their semester starts? Maybe I'm missing something.

Can we use …

Dexter Lawrence and Rahshaun Smith in the national championship game since early enrollees?
??

Maybe we should usee Dexter Lawrence to simulate

Jan 5, 2016, 10:42 AM

Derrick Henry, they're about the same size.

depressing for them! Then what would they do?

What am I missing here???

Jan 5, 2016, 10:44 AM

How can Alabama be using an "early enrollee" when they don't even start "enrolling" for second semester until the next week? I mean, they can't have it both ways. I understand they are entitled and they are God's favorite team but this defies my understanding.

Agree. This seems like a ridiculous double-standard.***

Is he using up eligibility?

Jan 5, 2016, 12:59 PM [ in reply to What am I missing here??? ]

Isnt this still the 2015 season? How is he eligible to workout with the team without eligibility? Does this mean high school kids can 'drop by' and 'simulate' with the college team during the fall, without enrolling and or using up eligibility? This really smells.

on the pne hand, the young guy is unpredictable

Jan 5, 2016, 10:47 AM

On the other hand, his decisions are likely going to be terrible

Agree with the general sentiment, though. This sound like it should be some kind of rule infraction. I'm not bothered by it being any kind of advantage but I am annoyed because it seems pretty standard for Alabama to push the boundaries on recruits and signees.

This is an illegal practice by Alabama...you cannot

Jan 5, 2016, 2:19 PM

have someone on your "practice squad" who has not yet had any classes begin. Otherwise, the Tigers and every other school could have anyone, with remaining eligibility, come out and help in practice and claim that they are going to enroll in class at the start of the semester...they could be even accepted and "choose not to start" once classes begin. Are these the kind of antics Saban uses to "so wonderfully prepare his team" for games...is this part of "the process?" I hope the NCAA is fully aware of this

I agree with your comments. It was my first thought as well - if Alabama doesn't start classes until January 13, how can this guy really be a student there? It seems very suspicious.
