Almost never mention that most experts think that approximately 25% of the population has already been exposed to Covid. I realize the number of reported cases is much less than 25%, but there are many who have never experienced symptoms and others who got sick and didn’t realize it was Covid. There seems to be a consensus among all of these experts that the 25% number is a good estimate.
So we don’t need 70% of the population to receive a vaccine. We should need only around 50 to 55% vaccinated to obtain heard immunity. I get that many people who have already had Covid will probably get a vaccine, so that’s why I think more than 50% need to get vaccinated. But not 70% plus need a vaccine to create heard immunity.
