ESPNU just had committee chairman Dennis Farrell...

on the phone and asked him why Clemson goes to Columbia two years straight. Only said they voted on 6 teams to fill the final 2 regionals, and after that they had to follow "committee parameters" to put us in the Columbia regional. Kyle Peterson basically called the committee out saying it's not fair to both schools, the fans, and closed by saying said this was one of the most heated rivalries in college sports. The other commentators agreed.

Yep: Just like the "parameters"

...that had us playing to NCAA basketball tournament games a few years back.
No doubt they'll adjust the "parameters" when it hurts someone else.

this team could have hosted, but they decided to lay an egg and blow a big lead against unc
if you want to blame, blame the staff/players for not showing up in durham

are in. I'm glad we are in the Columbia regional, nothing would be finer than to knock the coots out of the playoffs.

they lost 3 out of 4 to close the season, so they host based on LAST year ? that is just plain wrong, if so. name might get you in from the "bubble", but not selected as host.

Maybe USC was on the bubble to host and it got them over the hump. Sometimes you get the benefit of the doubt when you have made it to the championship series the last three years with two national championships.
Sit your Ace pitcher and lose...you look pretty dumb.
The NCAA committee is trying to give Clemson a chance to redeem themselves for the 2010 CWS. It is Clemson's fault they failed in 2011 by not getting to the Columbia Super by losing at home to UCONN. So in 2012, the fixed that problem (thinking Clemson could take care of business in the post season) by putting them directly in the Columbia regional. Didn't work out for Clemson. They are now giving you another shot. Clemson could always win 4 straight to final finish the job, since they do still have their ace.

Pumped to have the opportunity to beat our rival , in their house and on our terms with a young pitching staff and a team that nobody expected to get into this situation at the start of the season. So many boo-hooers on this site....sad to see the energy get sapped by doubting and/or complaining rather than just pulling for Clemson...what has happened to just getting behind your school and pushing through the adversity. Would rather you be a Coot ?

I agree with your comments. Let the teams slug it out in at the College World Series. Both teams could get hot and make it there. We've seen it before. The committee doesn't like it simply because, while they know a Clemson - South Carolina rematch would be watched by all South Carolinians, and many ACC/SEC fans in the series, they don't like the two rivals, from the same state, fighting it out given the west, southwest and Midwest. I think they screwed things up as usual, given only one of the rivals has the opportunity to move on. That's the NCAA. I wish the Universities could ban them.

What's an ACC fan ?

Is there a faction of folks around that would pull for an athletic conference instead of an individual institution ? If there are , then I laugh at them and feel a little sorry for them too...usually an indication that things arent going so well for them at the stand-alone level . ACC fan ? lol
