Mike Patrick is losing his marbles. He can't get anyone's name right and he babbles on like an old fool.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's Sad

Oct 18, 2012, 2:15 PM

Mike Patrick used to be one of my favorites back in the Rick Barnes days when he would announce ESPN games for basketball. Lately he is consistently wrong, and just rambles on.

I wish Urban would have stayed in the booth instead of going to OSU. He was a breath of fresh air.

ESPN changes college football announcer lineup

CAPTIONHandout via ESPN
With the exodus of high-profile analysts Urban Meyer and Bob Davie -- who returned to coaching -- as well as Craig James, who ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate in Texas, ESPN will make changes to its college football on-air lineup.

In changes that will be formally announced Monday, the top ESPN/ABC team of Brent Musburger and Kirk Herbstreit return to work ABC Saturday prime-time games, although no replacement has been named that on-air team's former reporter Erin Andrews, who left for Fox.

Changes on ABC Saturday afternoon games:

Chris Spielman, who last year worked with Dave Pasch and the departed Meyer, will this season team with Sean McDonough, who last season worked with Matt Millen. (Millen will move to ESPN Saturday prime-time games.)
Ed Cunningham, who last season was on ESPN2 games with Mark Jones, will now work with Mike Patrick, who teamed with the departed James last season.
Danny Kanell, will move from ESPNU games with Rob Stone, who left for Fox, to pair with Bob Wischusen, who last year worked with the departed Davie.
Other changes include Brian Griese, who'd been on ESPNU games, moving to work ESPN noon ET games with Pasch. And Joey Galloway, a rookie game analyst, will call ESPN2 noon games with Beth Mowins – the only woman left calling national TV college football since ESPN dropped Pam Ward. Galloway replaces Mike Bellotti, who this season will mainly do studio analysis as well as occasional ESPNU games.
