Apparently, Jared Shanker forgot to mention the SEC (like the American Conference) only has FOUR teams in the CFP Top 25 rankings, but considered it more of an insult to name the American Conference.
On the other hand, another ESPN writer--Greg Ostendorf--noted that this time one year ago, the SEC had 11 teams in the CFP Top 25, including 3 in the top 5. He added, "What a difference a year makes." --Source: http://espn.go.com/espn/now?nowId=21-0455888775264866365-4
I think the whole country , as CFB fans are quite aware of the propaganda machine that ESPiN has become for it's golden goose the $EC ....and I think that ship has sailed . Results on the field have shown , especially over the last 2 seasons that not only aren't they in a class by themselves , but like all the other conferences they have a few good teams , maybe 1 or 2 elite types and that's about it . No different than the ACC in that respect . The real test is bowl/championship season ....and they have looked exceedingly pedestrian there over the last two seasons as well .
