upstate, or Charlotte area, buy some of the cheap tix on StubHub, get in your car at 7am and you're in Orlando by 2pm - 3pm depending on where you started. Take some friends along and the time flies.

Soon as we got on 85 near savanah it was bumper to bumper all the way until we got off 95.

everybody and both their brothers are on the road to FL for the holidays, the 17 bowl games in FL in a week, and a Disney vacation. Traffic isn't as heavy. (Disclaimer: I can't take responsibility for the dum-arses texting and driving and ending up in a ditch that slows traffic). And, the earlier start you get the better off. Let the sleepy heads deal with any later traffic.

8 hours is the best case scenario. Most likely because of construction/heavy traffic it's a 10 hour drive. Better leave at 5 AM.
